Why did you choose the Accounting, Banking & Finance programs?
I have always loved math, but my new-found obsession is organizing math! I feel a sense of accomplishment every time I complete an accounting problem, and I love seeing how I can organize a homework problem.
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
Despite the accountant stereotype, we are actually very social people! We love talking with our coworkers and customers and building those relationships. To me, this is very rewarding.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
I spent a lot of time in Appleton growing up, so I was familiar with the area. FVTC was helpful since my first day at orientation. Every staff member and instructor wants nothing more than to see the students succeed, and that means so much to me.
How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?
When I applied to FVTC, I was transferring from a different college. I started my education here with a lot of uncertainty and hesitation. Everyone at FVTC has helped me build my self-confidence and I can finally see myself becoming successful, thanks to my wonderful and encouraging instructors!
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
Though I am graduating this May, I will be continuing my education at FVTC for one year, then completing my bachelor’s degree at Franklin University. At the moment, I am open to any sort of accounting experience, but would love to travel with my work! My favorite class so far included construction accounting, which I found very interesting!
