Why did you choose the IT-Network Specialist program?

I chose to study this field for two reasons. First, I have always enjoyed learning new things, and IT is changing every day so there is always something new to learn. In addition to that, I had two awesome computer teachers in junior and senior high school, Mr. Mitch Patri and Mrs. Jennifer Krueger, who inspired me to go into a career where it is not the same thing every day, and IT is just that!

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

It’s rewarding when I find the solution to my problem. Recently, I had to build a script in Windows PowerShell in order to execute a game. When I went to run my script, it failed. I spent the next two hours reading and re-reading my script to find I had a typo. After I found my mistake I was relieved because I could then play my game in Windows PowerShell!

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose FVTC for many reasons, but the biggest reason is that you are treated as a person, not a number. The staff here want to see you succeed and be engaged in your education!

How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?

FVTC has helped me to become more outgoing. Now, I am not afraid to go up to someone and simply say, “Hi, how are you today?” With this, I have been able to gain many new lifelong friends!

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

After I graduate, I expect to acquire a position as a Network Specialist. I’d like to work at a large corporation in the Fox Cities. However, my dream job is to work in the IT Department of an educational institution such as FVTC or a K-12 School District!
