UPDATE: FVTC has created an emergency resources webpage for students, employees and everyone in our community who may need assistance or is looking for ways to help.
Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the severe weather and tornado activity that affected our communities on Monday, July 27.
The college was spared major structural damage, and while some buildings lost power temporarily, electricity has been restored in all FVTC locations. Grounds cleanup is underway, and the facilities team is responding to water leaks and other minor damage.
All FVTC buildings have power, water and air conditioning. During our normal building hours, members of the community are welcome to use our spaces to charge phones, cool off or rest.
While as a campus we have been fortunate, many of our students and employees have been impacted by the storm.
If you are looking for ways to help, here are a few options:
- Donating to local recovery efforts as opportunities become available: United Way Fox Cities and the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region have established a Community Response Fund to support recovery efforts.
- You can also donate to the FVTC Food Pantry or the basic needs organization of your choice. (Note that many organizations are only accepting monetary donations at this time.) Here is a list of Fox Cities Food Pantries.
- Volunteering through coordinated community response efforts: Volunteer Fox Cities is coordinating community volunteer opportunities. More info >
- Allowing emergency and recovery crews space to work safely in impacted areas.
We are grateful for the first responders, utility crews, volunteers and community members who are stepping up to help our region recover.
