Summer break is often a time for adventure, and for 166 students, that adventure included exploring future careers through Fox Valley Technical College’s summer camps.
This summer, FVTC hosted 10 camps that introduced campers to a variety of career fields through hands-on activities, interactive projects and behind-the-scenes experiences.
Returning favorites included CSI Adventure Camp, Fire Camp and GirlTech, while new offerings such as Small Engine: Powersports Behind the Scenes and Rogue Robots gave students new opportunities to gain experience.
Many camps were enhanced through support from community and industry partners who helped bring career pathways to life. Camp experiences included visits and activities with partners such as Riesterer & Schnell, Team Winnebagoland Powersports, Penske Trucking, Plexus, Kimberly Clark, Bergstrom Automotive, PPG, Fox Communities Credit Union, Local 400, Mosquito Hill Nature Center and Whisk & Arrow.
“2026 camps were a resounding success, with students sharing that they enjoyed trying new experiences and learning new skills,” says Amanda Martzahl, Career Discovery & K12 Partnerships specialist. “Career Discovery Camp campers unanimously agreed that getting to make (and eat) cupcakes with Nea from Whisk & Arrow was a highlight.”
Summer camps are part of FVTC’s ongoing efforts to introduce young learners to career possibilities while helping them discover new interests and talents. Information about 2027 summer camp offerings will be available next year.
