Why did you choose this career program?

I love working outside in nature and understanding how plants grow what they need to live. I find it rewarding to get a harvest from a plant to make some awesome dishes. I love getting my hand dirty and seeing a finished product get done.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I found watching things grow really rewarding; seeing them produce flowers and fruit to eat is something amazing. I also love finding new ways to improve the way we grow our plants.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I searched Wisconsin colleges for a program that focused on greenhouse operations rather than just landscaping.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

It has helped me prepare for the future. It has introduced me to an area of horticulture that I have never encountered before.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I want to start my own business but in the meantime work for a greenhouse as a worker learning more. I would love to have my own greenhouse and nursery where I could host event for a community to gather.

What’s your best advice for someone who’s not sure they’re ready for college?

Find what you’re passionate about and learn more.
