Winner of Unique Solutions Award

The nation’s premiere public safety training facility receives distinct award from Insight publications.

Insight publications hosted its 2nd Annual Insight Innovation awards on May 19, and Fox Valley Technical College received the magazine’s 2015 Unique Solutions award for the development of the nearly 80-acre, 95,000 square-foot Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) at the Outagamie County Regional Airport.

Accepting the award on behalf of Fox Valley Technical College were Vice President for Instructional Services Chris Matheny, Dean of Public Safety Aaron Tomlinson and Public Safety Training Center Director Jeremy Hanson.

The PSTC is a model training facility that integrates the skills of law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and more into one high-tech setting to optimize best practices.

Public safety officials from around the country are already using the PSTC, helping increase the vitality of our region’s economy. The facility just concluded its first full semester of operation with a dedication ceremony and public open house, which drew more than 900 people in three hours.
