Why did you choose the Health Information Technology program?

I chose Health Information Technology because I wanted a career in health care but with minimal patient interaction. Health Information Technology has a broad range of positions that would fit my interests and help me grow in the field of health care.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

When we think about quality patient care, most look at the providers and nurses who are directly handling patients. After the classes that I have taken, I now realize that every person employed in healthcare—whether it be insurance, billing, coding, or providing—is responsible for quality patient care.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

After being out of high school for almost seven years, college seemed daunting. Fox Valley Technical College was affordable and attainable. I just knew that FVTC was the place where I would be able to reach the goals I had set for myself.

How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?

All of the instructors and other faculty have been supportive through my journey. They have always been committed to seeing me succeed. I have built relationships here that I will carry with me in my personal and professional life.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I have a passion for leadership and see myself in a health care administrative role. I will also be continuing my education at Lakeland University starting this fall.
