A recent NBC26 report highlights how Fox Valley Technical College is incorporating artificial intelligence into the classroom to better prepare students for employers’ expectations in the workforce.
FVTC Nursing instructor Jennifer Zernzach explained how two artificial‑intelligence tools are helping nursing students build skills and confidence. One tool serves as a virtual study partner with all of the information based on the program’s own lectures and textbooks.
“We use a specific program where we uploaded our book and all of our PowerPoints,” Jennifer explains. “So when our students are searching, they’re getting accurate information for our books and class specifically versus all the information that’s on the web.”
A second AI tool generates virtual patient characters with their own medical history. It allows students to practice interacting with a patient to learn more about their ailment, what medications they’re taking and what side effects they’re experiencing.
NBC26 also highlighted how AI is being incorporated into many communications-related courses at the college.
