FVTC Foundation Annual Report

At age 43, Rich Conrad was laid off. As a single parent with two children, he realized it was time to seek a new career path. Today, Rich is proud to report that he received his technical diploma in Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics and is working toward his associate degree in Aeronautics-Pilot Training. He is employed in Chilton as an airframe and powerplant mechanic. Rich feels fortunate to have found a specialized program that led to employment.

Rich was the recipient of a Chilton Regional Center Scholarship. “The scholarship helped me afford travel back and forth each day. As a working single parent, it was a great help. I was able to take some classes in Chilton and then traveled to Oshkosh for my program classes,” says Rich. “My future goals are to complete the associate degree, acquire my commercial pilot’s license and pursue additional training in agriculture to include aerial crop duster application and agronomy.”
