FVTC Hosted Group of Russian Physicians

A delegation of Russian healthcare professionals visited the region for a week-long program to promote mutual understanding between Russian physicians and their Wisconsin counterparts. Hosted by Fox Valley Technical College’s Global Education & Services department, the Open World delegates explored best practices in the delivery of medical and community-based healthcare services through interacting with local hospital physicians, primary care providers, and related organizations.

One of the delegates’ visits included a hands-on experience (see photo) with FVTC’s healthcare simulation training technology at its Health Simulation and Technology Center on the Appleton campus. The simulation technology is used in a virtual hospital setting to provide continuous education for existing healthcare practitioners and entry-level education for careers in the nursing, medical assistant, and emergency medical services fields.

The congressionally sponsored Open World program brings emerging leaders from participating countries to the United States to provide firsthand exposure to the American system of participatory democracy and free enterprise.
