From Here to There: FVTC & Ripon College Create a Transfer Partnership

With a flick of two pens, presidents from Fox Valley Technical College and Ripon College have signed an agreement making higher education more accessible to students.

The agreement creates a seamless path for students with an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree from FVTC to transfer to Ripon College with junior status to complete their bachelor’s degree.

In recent years, a growing number of students have expressed interest in starting their education at FVTC with a goal of transferring to a four-year college or university. After a lengthy process of discussion, planning and approvals, FVTC launched the University Transfer degree programs in January of 2023.

“Since we launched two years ago, we currently have 377 students actively pursuing these university transfer degrees,” explains Dr. Chris Matheny, president of FVTC. “Creating this transfer agreement with Ripon College capitalizes on our close proximity and our mission to create practical and affordable options for our students to earn a bachelor’s degree.”

Each degree in the University Transfer Degree program consists of 41 degrees of general education and 21 credits of electives. All credits will be eligible for transfer to Ripon College and allow students to complete an associate degree at FVTC and a bachelor’s degree at Ripon College in as little as four years.
