Why did you choose to study this field?

From a young age, I felt a strong calling to pursue a career in healthcare. While studying at Fox Valley Technical College, I discovered the field of neurodiagnostic technology, which resonated deeply with me due to the loss of several loved ones to neurological illnesses. This personal connection fuels my commitment to advancing awareness and making meaningful contributions to the field of neurology.

Tell us how you came to choose FVTC for your education.

I learned about Fox Valley Technical College through my guidance counselor after it was newly added to the scholarship program available to students from the Bahamas. In 2022, I proudly became one of the first Bahamian students to enroll, eager for the opportunity to study in a new environment.

What’s been the most rewarding part of your educational journey at FVTC?

The most rewarding part of my educational journey at FVTC has been discovering my identity, cultivating independence and expanding my worldview. I’ve realized the limitless potential I possess when I commit fully to my goals.

What was the most difficult part?

The most challenging aspect was the physical distance from my family, which created a sense of emotional isolation. Being apart from their daily support significantly impacted my adjustment process.

What will you do on graduation day or in the future to celebrate graduation?

On graduation day, I plan to celebrate with a family dinner, followed by a well-deserved vacation together.

Tell us about your plans after graduation.

I received a full scholarship to Texas State University, where I will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with the long-term goal of attending medical school.
