Why did you choose to study this field?

I chose to study this field because I was always fascinated while watching my family members work, and it made me want to roll up my sleeves and help them right away with projects!

Tell us how you came to choose FVTC for your education.

The first reason I chose the FVTC is that it was close to home. The second reason is the flexibility of the classes offered at the Tech. I was still able to work full-time while attending my classes and always had time to work on my assignments. The final reason that I chose FVTC is because of its affordability! I was able to finish my degree and remain debt-free by paying all of my bills with my own hard-earned money.

What’s been the most rewarding part of your educational journey at FVTC?

The most rewarding part of my educational journey would be my own self-motivation and determination to get through life’s challenges. I also really enjoyed being able to work for the FVTC Waupaca Regional Center. I learned so many things and made so many great connections with all the staff and teachers there. They will all be missed and I plan to stay in touch!

What was the most difficult part?

The most difficult part of my journey happened after I got married in the summer of 2021 and I became a victim of domestic abuse. My life became very chaotic, so I had to put my schooling on hold for a semester to adjust to my new life.

What Will You do on Graduation Day or in the Future to Celebrate Graduation?

On graduation day I will be walking across the stage to get my degree and celebrate all of the life challenges and accomplishments I have experienced at FVTC! After my graduation ceremony, I plan on celebrating on a separate occasion with my family.

Tell Us About Your Plans After Graduation

I’m starting my Bachelor’s degree at Lakeland University on the FVTC campus this spring, studying Business Administration, with an emphasis in Fraud and Forensics. With this degree, I am planning to work with the IRS or the financial auditing department with KwikTrip.

One last parting thought or words of wisdom to share with others.

Never give up on any dreams you desire to accomplish in life! It may take a curve around the bend to get there, but it is well worth the small wait to make the dream come true at the end of the tunnel.
