Students Pitch in for Earth Week

FVTC Natural Resources Students

In recognition of Earth Week, which includes both Earth Day on April 22 and Arbor Day on April 28, Fox Valley Technical College students have the following activities planned:

Students in the FVTC Natural Resources program (pictured) spent some time the week of April 17 picking up litter that had accumulated on the Appleton campus over the winter. The students are enrolled in the Forest Recreation Environmental Education class and filled more than 30 bags of trash.

On Thursday, April 27, a group of students from the Natural Resources Club will be volunteering their time planting trees at the Wisconsin Veterans Village, located across the street from the Appleton campus. It’s part of an effort to plant more than 170 trees on that property.

The FVTC Automation & Electronics Club is hosting an electronics recycling drive on Thursday, April 27 at the FVTC Bordini Center, 5 Systems Drive, Appleton. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn more about what items can be recycled >

Plant a tree for Arbor Day! On Friday, April 28, the FVTC Student Government Association is sponsoring a Tree in a Box giveaway in the Appleton Campus Commons from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
