Why did you choose this career program?

I grew up with dirt under my nails and a deep appreciation for working with my hands, building everything from decks to sheds, because I find it grounding to create something tangible. While I love the physical craft, I also have a natural interest in the business side of things and in creating genuine value for others. Choosing construction management was about finding the most honest way to blend that technical skill set with my desire to connect with people and utilize my problem-solving skills. I wanted a path where I could lead with integrity and ensure that every project I touch serves a purpose.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

The most rewarding part of this journey is the immediate feedback loop between the classroom and the real world. I’m not just memorizing theory; I’m acquiring high-yield skills that I can deploy into my ventures the very same afternoon. It’s rare to find an educational path where every single hour of study directly increases your professional equity and operational capacity.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose Fox Valley Technical College because I wanted a high-ROI education that prioritized practical execution over academic fluff. I realized this two-year track offered the most direct path to mastering construction management without the baggage of a traditional degree. The career counseling and instructors here were the catalyst that helped me pivot from a period of uncertainty into a focused, deliberate mission. Ultimately, it’s an environment built for doers who want to build a legacy, not just a resume.

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

Fox Valley Tech provided the structure I needed to turn my broad interests into a deliberate and focused professional mission. The resources here helped me stop overthinking and start taking consistent action toward a career I’m genuinely proud to pursue. I’ve learned that growth comes from staying curious and being willing to do the work, even when it isn’t glamorous. I feel much more prepared now to contribute to the world in a meaningful way and to eventually lead others by example.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

Rather than looking for a traditional job, my goal is to continue scaling the business I’ve started with a close friend and business partner. I’m focused on building a company where I can create opportunities for others to thrive and find the same fulfillment in building that I have. Eventually, I’d like to find a way to mentor other young men, sharing what I’ve learned about entrepreneurship, mindset, and construction. My hope is simply to keep building with quality and to make a positive impact in the Fox Valley area.

What’s your best advice for someone who’s not sure they’re ready for college?

Do not be afraid to take deliberate, consistent action today, because when you master a craft that allows you to serve others with intentional excellence, you make the future a better place.
