More Programs and Flexible Options Attract More Students to Campus

Flexible learning and new programs drive enrollment growth

Fox Valley Technical College is attracting even more students for the 2024 fall semester, thanks to new programs of study and a strong focus on flexibility.

As classes begin Monday (today) at all FVTC campuses, regional centers, and training centers, we’re excited to see not only an increase in enrollments but also that students are taking more credits this semester.

Here is a look at the start of the fall term by the numbers:

  • Enrollments are up almost 3% year-over-year (YOY) which builds on the 4% enrollment increase the college saw the year before.
  • The college continues to see an upward trend in students enrolling in more credits, with a 7% increase this fall. Programs that have seen the greatest growth are Transportation, Agriculture, Health; and General Studies.
  • More than 200 students are enrolled in the Associate of Arts or Associate of Science program. Both transfer degrees meet general education requirements for students to transfer to a partner school with junior standing to pursue a bachelor’s degree. FVTC has transfer agreements with UW-Oshkosh, UW Green Bay, Lakeland University and Marian University.

In response to feedback from local employers who are experiencing gaps in the workforce, the college is offering several new educational offerings. These new associate degree programs include:

  • Aviation Management
  • Precision Agriculture Technology

As classes begin, the college is already planning for what’s next. FVTC offers several programs with multiple start dates throughout the fall semester, including Welding, Machine Tool, Accounting, Human Resources, and Supply Chain Management, among others. Prospective students can also enroll in general education courses, with the option to start classes in mid-October.

FVTC is also getting ready for the biggest event of the year, Open House 2024. The in-person event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 3-7 p.m. No registration is necessary.
