Associate Degree Nursing student Jasmine Jackson is about to add a new role to her already demanding schedule.
Jasmine has been selected as the 2025 Wisconsin Technical College System Ambassador for Fox Valley Technical College. In this role, Jasmine will advocate on behalf of the college in raising awareness about the importance of technical education in Wisconsin.
Jasmine started her journey at FVTC when she participated in Career EXCELerate (CE) and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. Working at a local rehabilitation and long-term care facility solidified Jasmine’s desire to continue her education.
Tapping into the support and guidance from instructors in the CE program, Jasmine enrolled at FVTC, where she completed her general education credits and has begun the Associate Degree Nursing program.
“FVTC is designed to groom you into a powerhouse,” Jasmine explains. “The instructors are extremely supportive and push you to your full potential. You are equipped with educational skills and ready to perform in your chosen career.”
The criteria used to nominate someone for FVTC Ambassador include academic excellence, commitment to leadership activities on campus, mastery of the student’s chosen program, and the ability to be an ambassador for the technical college system. To be nominated for this award, the student needs to meet all the criteria and participate in a process that includes interviews and a presentation in front of a selection committee.
Jasmine was selected from an exceptional group of six nominees. They include:
- Grace Allard, Veterinary Technician
- Sumaiyha Gibson, Neurodiagnostic Technology
- Thomas Micke, Small Business Entrepreneurship / Business Management
- Isaac L Noriega Long, Natural Resources
- Troy Willems, Marketing
Congratulations to all nominees!
