Fox Valley Technical College is proud to announce that our Hmong Student Union (HSU) was recognized as the Runner-Up HSA Spirit Award Winner at the 2025 Hmong National Development Conference (HNDC), held last month in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This national recognition celebrates the top Hmong Student Associations from across the country for their impact over the past year. FVTC’s HSU stood out for their creativity, leadership and deep commitment to serving and empowering students on campus and in the local community.

The HNDC 2025 theme, We Rise, United, set the tone for the event and perfectly captured the spirit of FVTC’s HSU. From cultural celebrations to service projects and leadership development, the group has worked together to create a welcoming, supportive space for Hmong students while raising awareness and appreciation for Hmong culture throughout the college.

As part of the award, FVTC’s HSU received:

  • Waived conference and banquet fees for six student members and two advisors.
  • Four paid hotel rooms for the entire conference.
  • Recognition on the HNDC website, social media and press coverage.
  • A feature of the HSU’s video during the national conference program.

Congratulations to all of the HSU members!
