Fox Valley Technical College is pleased to be the recipient of multiple Workforce Advancement Training (WAT) grants from the Wisconsin Technical College System.

These grants, totaling nearly $950,000, are part of the state’s $5 million annual investment in workforce development and will support customized training programs designed to upskill employees and enhance business performance across Northeast Wisconsin.

The WAT grants will fund training in high-demand areas such as manufacturing, leadership development, healthcare, transportation, maintenance, and quality operations. Programs will focus on technical skills, safety, automation, data analytics, and strategic planning—tailored to meet the evolving needs of local industries.

“These grants allow us to deliver high-impact, industry-specific training that directly supports the needs of our regional employers,” said Kari Meixl, director of Business & Industry Services at FVTC. “They also greatly help employers offset the cost of high-quality training, making it more accessible to invest in their workforce and stay competitive in today’s fast-changing environment.”

Global technology company Valmet is one of more than 100 local employers who have already benefited from training facilitated by FVTC’s Business & Industry Services.

“The knowledge and skills which our employees have gained at FVTC to teach classes (Train-the-Trainer Course) have met and exceeded our expectations,” said Marc Grassel, training manager at Valmet. “In addition, the cost is considerably less than other options, making FVTC a great value.”
