Celebrating Native American Heritage Month

The National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC) of Fox Valley Technical College proudly supports Tribal Nations by building on their inherent strengths through training, technical assistance and strategic planning.

NCJTC has long-standing partnerships with some of the nation’s leading providers in areas of Tribal justice, law enforcement, child safety and victim services. Programs include:

  • AMBER Alert in Indian Country
  • Tribal Corrections and Re-entry Program
  • Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation
  • Tribal Justice Systems Strategic Planning Program
  • Tribal Community Response Plan
  • Tribal Response to Alcohol & Substance Misuse Program

Recent Highlights:

  • Strengthening justice in rural Alaska: partnered with the Bristol Bay Native Association to support a community and justice system needs assessment serving 31 Tribes across 46,573 square miles.
  • Public service announcement (PSA) to combat substance misuse: NCJTC and members of the FVTC media team worked with the Meskwaki Nation to create a three-minute PSA supporting their substance misuse initiative. View the PSA >
  • Beyond Detention – Tribal Voices Podcast: Development of Beyond Detention – Tribal Voices, a podcast highlighting Tribal perspectives and innovative programs transforming Tribal corrections and reentry, set to launch in 2026
  • Empowering Tribes to strengthen supervision and reduce recidivism: Tribal Probation and Re-entry (TPRA) Program provides Tribal corrections professionals with training and technical assistance to implement culturally relevant, evidence-based practices for American Indian/Alaska Native individuals.
