Donor Supports Student IT Help Desk

The student Information Technology (IT) Help Desk on the Appleton campus received a new name thanks to the support of the Bemis Company Foundation.

A recent $50,000 gift from the Bemis Company Foundation to the Fox Valley Technical College Foundation will be used to help make education affordable for lower-income families as part of the Foundation’s Promise initiative. In appreciation of the donation, FVTC officials renamed its IT Student Help Desk the Bemis Company Foundation IT Student Help Desk at Fox Valley Technical College. The hands-on learning lab is located inside entrance 13 and is part of the recently-expanded IT Center of Excellence.

Bemis Company, founded in 1858, is a global supplier of flexible and rigid plastic packaging used by leading food, consumer products, healthcare and other companies worldwide. Bemis creates exceptional packaging and works collaboratively with forward-thinking companies to find better ways to succeed. As an employer of over 17,000 worldwide, Bemis stays connected with the dedication of an engaged, diverse and global IT workforce.

To date, the FVTC Foundation has raised more than $900,000 toward the Promise.
