Certificate being offered starting this fall
Fox Valley Technical College will start the fall semester by offering several new learning opportunities at the college. What is the Diesel Technology Assistant program all about?
This certificate option is an entry point to the diesel program. Students can explore this industry while earning college credit and developing workplace skills. The certificate is recognized by employers and will help students gain access to entry-level diesel technician positions here in the state. This creates a win-win situation for students as well as employers.
Why did FVTC decide to add this program now?
Diesel technician jobs are in high demand. Nationally, the industry is predicted to see a major increase in the need for technicians over the next few years. The need for technicians in the state of Wisconsin is expected to grow by 5% annually.

Diesel technician jobs cover a wide range of applications. Heavy over-the-road truck repair, light, and medium duty truck repair, stationary power generation, heavy equipment, and off-road equipment repair.
