A group of mothers and their children completed a pilot program that teaches life and family-strengthening skills while preparing for college and career success.
The Starting Point 2.0 program is a collaborative initiative between Fox Valley Technical College and B.A.B.E.S. Child Abuse Prevention. It’s designed to help 18- to 29-year-old single mothers with challenged backgrounds develop a brighter future while giving their children an encouraging outlook. Seven families made up the first set of learners in the program, which was supported by the Women’s Fund of the Fox Valley Region.
